Description
Singer 114w103 Cornely Type Chainstitch Sewing Machine
SOLD – But another machine is currently being restored… Email for more info!
This machine is in very good condition and works extremely well! Adjusted, oiled, and tested in a wide variety of thread types and textiles (including heavy canvas, wool felts, and light leather through it to ensure that it is a good runner. Everything on this machine is very smooth and accurate and produces great moss stitches (chenille stitch) as well as the classic chainstitch in a variety of sizes. This particular machine was built in 1949 and was operated by a small embroidery business in the midwest and was regularly maintained and well cared for. This single-owner machine was built, operated, and serviced in the USA and has never been overseas or been subjected to cheap aftermarket parts from the East! Included is a set of nipples (#4, #5, #6) and matching needles as well as all of the accessories you’ll need to get started (see list below). I can also offer additional nipples and needle sets dependent on your needs. I will include a printed and digital copies of the original owners manual and parts manual as well as a collection of scanned training books from the golden years of chainstitching. Some of these were scanned in-house and are actually quite rare! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Note on vintage machines:
The Singer 114w103 is a marvel of a sewing maching which will continue to perform well in industrial settings for generations if maintained properly. These machines were made as early as 1911, so the machine you receive will likely have already sewn many strange and amazing pieces over the course of its life. As such, there will inevitably be signs of use present on the machine. I’ve always strongly preferred the machines that have a patina which reveal their unique histories… Rubbing marks, scratches, brassing of the hardware –These qualities are much more beautiful and authentic than a machine that has been repainted and with a fresh logo. Some of the machines I stock have actually made flags and uniforms for Chicago’s Wrigley Field before the Great Depression, and produced the back patches for notorious motorcycle gangs in the Milwaukee and Chicago areas. All machines have been carefully cleaned, tuned, and tested. I have supplied machines to some very inspiring artists and fashion house and stand by the machines I sell. I try my best to take very clear photographs in good lighting, so you will know exactly what you are getting, cosmetically, before your purchase. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
